About this Picture
Part of the city's notorious "bridge war", the Columbus Road Bridge stands as a vehicle bridge on Cleveland's lower west side. One of Cleveland's first permanent bridges, it was originally built in early 1800's as a covered wood bridge before its eventual transformation into a double span swing bridge and utlimately it's current status as a vertical lift bridge.
